4 Questions with Katie Yost, Wet Paint artist and Medical Illustrator

1) When/how did you get into art? Did someone inspire you or show you the ropes?

I began with fingerpainting and crayons, took art classes throughout childhood, and eventually focused on art in college and grad school. My parents and all of the art teachers I had throughout school were constantly encouraging and inspirational.

2) How do you think you could use art to change the world (the lives of others)?
I want to create medical illustrations that can educate patients and doctors, and potentially save lives.

3) What is your favorite medium? Why?
I have several favorites, including watercolor, oil paint, and pen & ink. I also like making woodcuts.

4) Do you have a favorite movement of art?
Impressionism!
